You will need a North Carolina marriage license. The marriage license can be obtained from the Register of Deeds office.

Licenses handled from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
The Register of Deeds office will require proof of your social security number (SSN card or tax return) and a photo ID. If you have been married before, you need documentation of when the previous marriage ended. A blood test is not required in North Carolina. Your parents’ full names (including both mothers’ maiden names), the cities and states they were born in and the states they live in now. You will also be asked the name of the county and state in which you were born. The license cost $60, payable in cash or check. You must use the license within 60 days of issuance.

Bring your marriage license to the wedding. This is the official record of the ceremony. The Pastor will returns the license to the Register of Deeds for you.
