We continue to provide mission relief to Haiti. Our Mission Team was on schedule to leave the morning after the major earthquake in this island nation. Our Team did not make the flight, as they were cancelled. Bags were packed and tickets ready to go.

Now our focus is on relief. We are working with the North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church as a Haiti Mission Relief drop-off point for the Haiti Mission Health Care Kits.
Kits may be dropped off at Mann’s Red and White in Wanchese, NC.

More information can be found at UMCOR web site at http://new.gbgm-umc.org/umcor and http://www.nccumc.org.

Let us continue to keep this unfolding story in our prayers.

    Our Story

Helen Little, Missionary to Haiti, shared at our worship services on Sunday, October 25th. She told her experiences with the precious Haitian people she loves and wanted us to know what God is doing there.

The building project will eventually be an orphanage, school and church building. The first phase is the orphanage as there are children who are presently being turned away since there is no more living space in the rented building.

On the new property now owned by the ministry, along with gated wall and water well now completed, Helen would like to see enough of the new building constructed to move the orphanage to the new site. The ministry is now paying $5000.00 per year rent for the temporary housing for the orphanage. It is our hope, along with Helen, to move the children into the new facility as soon as possible.

The Junior MYF is working to raise funds to send to Haiti for the cost of the concrete to get the foundation laid. A gift of $5000.00 has been given to the effort. When Helen comes to encourage us to reach out through this ministry, we would like to encourage her with a gift of $10,000.00 to send on ahead of Bethany’s Mission Team. When we arrive there, we can be a part of laying blocks for the building.

If you would like to reach out to our neighbors in need, please consider giving to this mission. “God loves “a cheerful giver”, 2 Corinthians 9:7. And He has asked us to be especially kind and helpful to widows and orphans according to James 1:27.

Also, the mission team will be “fund raising” for the travel expenses to Haiti. Orders for Christmas wreaths made from fresh greenery are being taken now. If you purchased the greenery last year, you already know the quality. Delivery will be earlier this year, the week after Thanksgiving. Members of the church will be writing the orders and announcements will be made to remind everyone who is interested.

Thank you in advance for your prayers and support.

    In Christ Jesus,
Caroline, Craig, Audra, Lora and the Team

    The Lord’s Prayer

    Amen.
